Yesterday's drive across the state went through wild rainstorms, then heavy smoke from huge grassfires south of Daytona. Too wet, too dry. But arrived at our rental in good time and were impressed right away . It's a former hotel that has been partially condo-ized. As a landlord myself, it's still wierd to find and book a place online without ever meeting the owners (who in this case are in Georgia).
We're on the 6th floor overlooking the famous drive-on beach but downstairs is a lavish lobby, workout room, giant heated pool with hot tub, and direct access to the sand. At $1000 it's a deal but has quirks. For instance it's about 400 sq. ft. yet has 13 various chairs for 2 people to use, and a microwave from about 1980.
The view is spectacular day and night. We got some groceries (see hotel baggage cart) and got ready to check out month #3.
