From the 6th

The hundreds of thousands of bikers loaded up and vanished on Sunday, along with the thunderous noise and the bar girls. You may now unlock your daughters. Oh wait, I forgot --- they're already here for Break Week. The motels just changed their signs from "Welcome Bikers" to "Welcome Breakers". Badass replaced by dumbass? More on that later.

With the noise gone, we can spend more time on our 6th floor balcony. Now, the first sounds of the day are a local college football team doing drills on the beach starting about an hour before dawn. The coach's whistles and players' yells are in the dark and we only see the actual team when it's getting back on the bus at daylight.

Other sights are the lifeguards getting ready for the mobs of northerners, kids in the splashpad, the ice cream truck jingling and the constant 10 mph slowtrain of beach traffic. Daytona Beach back to normal.
