The Opening Ceremonies blast Vancouver into its Olympic Games tomorrow. One person who has seen a rehearsal says the sets are incredibly imaginative and tell the story of Canada in a bobsleigh-like dash through the ages. Canada's most iconic performers belt out Olympic-size anthems, and who knows who will light the flame? Don't miss it.
And the buzz is finally unmistakeable in the streets as athletes, officials, and all the spectators pour into town. It can't get more Canadian/Olympic than Mounties and Ronald. The Olympic torch is running through local routes such as Squamish First Nation, and will enter the ceremonies tomorrow night. The ongoing (predicted and predictable) rain has no chance of dousing either the flame or the volcano of spirit about to explode. Goose-bumpy to be here.
