Just about everybody I know has moved, done their own home improvements, and/or dealt with renovators. Pat and I have been working on at least 3 different homes (many more if you count volunteering with Habitat), and CC/NC in Michigan just sent out an email saying they're "FINALLY!" done on their home. The latest to take the plunge is Pat's sister Dianne who is moving to Owen Sound next month and she's applying her personal tastes to flooring, windows, paint, lighting, etc., etc.
But right now she's still living about 4 1/2 hours away, so Pat and I have been her stand-in at the job site. The contractors have been really patient while we relay instructions and suggestions back-and-forth. There's still a lot to be done such as custom patio doors and fresh paint in every room. This weekend was Dianne's first view of the progress, and her first sleep-over (on a borrowed mattress). Very exciting, very tiring. Do you remember when your house became your home??
