Friday Night Pipes

One of the local rituals is having a bagpiper serenade the sunset at Big Bay on summer Friday nights. Big Bay is neither big (pop. 40?) nor a bay (cove?) but does have a famous ice cream store, organic gardens, and a boat launch.
So last night about 40 from the neighbourhood launched, ice creamed, and continued the tradition of following the piper out the dock, like lemmings to the brink. Keith the Piper shocked everyone by showing up in a black suit and bowler hat!! (to see his usual kilt and tam, see the blog from July 1). Even the pipes were black instead of tartan ---- maybe he had a funeral gig?
And the third surprise was a lone drummer trying to keep the beat to Amazing Grace on a snare drum!
