Pet Rescue and Doc Dolphin

On today's morning walk through the outer neighbourhoods, we happened to pass the local cat and dog "rescue clinic". We had learned a lot about these last year in Puerto Vallarta. Dedicated American and Canadian expats organize a program to take in stray or abandoned dogs and cats, sterilize and vaccinate them, and try to find good homes. The one on this island is small-scale but big-hearted as today is one of the free vaccination/sterilization events. Local vetrenarians are persuaded to donate their services (which are often unaffordable for the locals) and the building itself is about the size of a double garage back home. Who knows where the used cages, food, and litter come from.

Pat also asked about the new rules on bringing a cat in or out of Mexico (see the Blog of Nov. 3). The local vet who will help Brandy exit is, ironically, Doctore Delfine --- Doctor Dolphin!!
