January 10: Getting Official

We have been issued major accreditation documents that allow us into various secured venues and facilities. Among other benefits, the credential allows us free access to the intricate local transit system. But Pat says the way people react to, and respect, the card hanging around our necks it feels like we could walk into the White House and say hi to Michelle! Soon we will be picking up our 5-piece uniforms to be worn whenever we are on duty but never when we aren't.
I'll be based in the impressive new building on the waterfront. It is actually a major addition to the Vancouver Convention Centre but will house the broadcasting facilities for the games.
Pat will be at the venue where rocks are thrown on ice --- no, not the bars --- the Curling rink.

The general public can walk by these buildings but they are in "lock-down" mode now, with restricted access throughout the games.
