DOWN TO EARTH

Sunrise is trekking further north daily, spotlighting new angles every morning. This week's awe from the warm earth are Queen of the Night diva tulips, cherry blossoms, and jack-in-the-pulpit. The two-way race between lilac colours shows a clear leader. C'mon purple!

Hot bright sun one day made the guy get into the annual wrestling match with the pop-up gazebo. Two days later it was cold and raining.

The pond needs heavy-duty care these days with algae blooms and tepid water. Luckily the fabric store reopened and filter cloth is available again.

The iconic ferry ChiCheemaun was out-and-back on a short shakedown run. Then it set out to Tobermory for the season. Wrapped in fog and with no passengers allowed, it was symbolic of the uncertainty these days.

Local wildlife keeps to their own spring schedule. Bat droppings show a healthy bunch in the batbox above. Fox snakes scan their hunting zone. A lone turkey drifts by without eating ---- shunned by the flock?? The first deer we've seen in 2 years appears in the distance, out of focus like a ghost.

The multi-talented girl has been in her Kenmore studio, turning out the must-have fashion of the day. Only a few select recipients have these custom face masks. Accept no imitations --- look for the pW logo!!

On a more serious note, what is happening in the States is appalling and has all the signs of a tailspin that will end badly. A country to which I have such deep connection can launch guys into space but is imploding down on earth. Black lives matter!
