FROM GRAD TO DAD

Last Sunday was a rare and happy family get-together around Jamie's high school graduation day. "Happy' because the equation women + education is so significant in my experience. "Rare" because it brought out two family members that we miss dearly. What will bring us together next??

Back at The View, the gardens and other growing things are the lushest and thickest in memory. Peak asparagus, upcoming berries, bursting blossoms, and a takeover by tadpoles! Down in Niagara, another woman was distinguishing herself by dangling from her teeth...

Local weather continues to demonstrate the extremes of climate change. Heat wave, fog banks, and especially lashes of monsoon rains. Like a Wheel of Mis-Fortune...

Today is Father's Day, the official recognition of giving thanks and respect to dad--- something I do aloud every day. In my case I got the gift instead of vice-versa:  intelligence, strength, curiosity, and so much more. Like him I learned to make-do; in this case a rusted-out BBQ was saved from scrap by making up a shield from scrap sheet metal. I love you, Dad!

And yes, today is Day 49 without water in the house. Ironic when there has been so much rain outside the house. Even a tornado around us last night. There is some hope that a rebuilt pump will be installed tomorrow, but I've heard that promise a few times. Maybe we'll just go looking for some new found land...
