No Common Denominator

Just some random photos and comments in this posting. Not exactly scraps but I can't see any common theme...

1. Drove over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge the other day. The approaches are so long and the construction seems so delicate it looked like it was a computer-generated image in the background of a sci-fi flick.

2. When the daily fishing charters come to dock, the crew filets the catch on the spot and throws the rest to eager never-enough pelicans below. Count the guys, count the beers. This is 8a.m.

3. Don's Dock across our lane is getting an upgrade and extension after 6 years of permit approvals. New slips, liquor licence, etc. Luke the dock manager happy to show the blueprints to anyone who asks. Come back in May for the grand-reopening. Free bait fish for all!

4. Last night's full moon created the highest and lowest tides possible. Sandbars and other underwater features get full exposure once a month, like monsters under a kid's bed. Watch out for the sharp clamshells.

5. By far by far the most common licence plate here other than Florida is --- Ontario. Thousands and thousands of us in this area. A far distant second is probably Michigan or New York but all the other states and eastern provinces are seen too. And more are expected daily as the Family Day/Spring Break season arrives like strawberries on shortcake. Many look like they drove all night from Huntsville and haven't had time to wash the car off yet!
