WHETHER OR NOT, WEATHER OR NOT

Weather continues to be a factor out here, rising and falling like hikers on Grouse Mountain. On clear days the snowcaps light up majestically, as if the spirits are lighting morning candles. A new wow-moment happens around every bend in a walk. Truly a magical place with nature overwhelming the scenic planes and boats and trains.

Then snowy, icy days reappear --- almost as bad as the weather back home. Indoors, the last hopes of the Chinese New Year hang in the balance. Nice weather for ducks? Branches are iced with glassy frosting. Make the best of it!

Another case of thousands of years of mystic culture finally being recognized.

Spring can't be held back, even in the cold. Those ducks in the snow are now pecking at green grass (but they're different from our eastern ducks...). Snowdrops in snow plops! Daffodils emerge from snow cover like survivors from an avalanche. The Ontario Gardener is awestruck --- she won't have them for another 2 months! A riot of colours grow along sidewalks and parkways.
