We drove the last 8 hours home today, from Dayton to Kemble. Suddenly it's cold! Don't say "Duh, It's December!!" ---- yesterday there was record high temperatures, today it's below freezing. Our neighbour says last weekend we had a foot of snow on the ground, then warm rain. The winter wheat fields, golf courses, and many lawns are bright faux-spring green. But it's just 14 days to the official start of winter, so the telltale sign of the season is the sun setting in the far south. We're back safely, thanks. Now how to get the birds back to the feeder??
