FROM SB TO DB

(Blogger's note: I know, I know ---- many of my pictures are slightly out of focus, like some of the following. Sorry. I hope they give some idea of the blur of colour of the moment. In the future, I'll either pay more than 20 bucks for a camera, or get one that likes to be out after dark!)

Took our last walk  around South Beach last night, a balmy 72F but with brisk ocean breezes. Surprised that wedding photography took precedence over a World Aids Day ceremony at the same church, same time. Royal palms are delighted to be-lighted. Saturday night on Ocean Drive is all colours, cars, and characters like the guy who was dressed entirely in clothes/shoes/hat dyed to match his red Camaro. Even his nose was a little red, but he wasn't Rudolph.

Driving north this morning, stopped at my university breakweek destination, Fort Lauderdale. Last week they lost huge sections of their seawall and block-long dunes of sand due to the effects of storms, tides, and the full moon. A huge hit to the upcoming tourist season. Still a fun place, though ---- can you see what the fishies are made of??

Easy ride on the interstate as the flora changed from palm trees to pine trees. We're in Daytona Beach (oceanside Economy Motel, $40) before the long drive home. NASCAR and the motorcycle hordes are out-of-season, so you can hear the waves instead.
