APRIL FULL'S DAY

Today's April 1 is full of occasions and coincidences. Let's see...There was a full moon overnight, all the better to see the Chinese space station hurtling back to Earth today. All the sports converge today --- last week of hockey, first week of baseball, pre-Masters golf, pro basketball, March Madness hoops final women & men, soccer on frozen field, and the big one --- curling!! Today is also tenants-pay-the-rent-or-give-notice day. And pay day. And April Fool's (ask her what the Fool was this morning!). And religiously, it's Passover and Easter. To top it off, it's snowing outside the window right now...April Full Day!

The week started with a quick trip to our Toronto hood. The historic lifeguard station is getting flood protection. But once again the Beach was the site of 7 art installations wrapped around empty lifeguard stands. More creative than ever and the most whimsy with meaning. Pussy "hut", megaphone, red sound baffles ---- all thought-provoking crowd favourites. And a cold piano player tickling the ivories!

Enough ice has melted that the car can finally drive up the hill. No more backpacking the groceries?! There's orange proof of life under the pond ice. Bird seed is being replenished and the water cube comes out of storage.

The Gardener got down on her knees to switch on the new bulbs. The Stoner placed some new ones in formation: the chips are down!

Oddly, we haven't seen a rabbit in the woods yet, but there was one inside before dawn! Then in the crocus! Then on thin ice!

The Ears tried to hide in the grass, in the woods, and behind the birdbath. What's it doing out there??

Chocolate everywhere but who's faster in the egg hunt? The squirrel grabbed all 4 and buried the stash. The girl didn't track down any...stumped among the stumps!

Quite an April 1. From full moon overnight to snowy first light, the sun has risen. No foolin'.
