(Good news, bad news --- not one mention or picture of cars this week ...)
October arrived with lots of rain and dark clouds, so ominous that we didn't even go to the last big car show of the season. There's still a bumper crop of tomatoes, apples, and pears to pick. Mild temperatures also bring out some late bloomers. And you can take the girl out of the farm but you can't take the farm out of the girl. Memories of baling straw...
It's time to do some overdue repairs and painting. The chimney area got more blobs of sealer but will it stop that pesky leak? Baseboard trim finally got replaced after what, 10 years or so. Then The Painter carefully blended it in with the colour "White Sand" ---- I wish!
Also, after many years of squinting into the morning sun and worrying about sun-bleached woodwork, we got a blind. The front window is now our blind spot! Ironically, there hasn't been a sunny morning since to try it out. Maybe the 3% of light allowed in won't be enough to hide some sights better left unseen...
