WE'RE GONNA PARTY LIKE IT'S 19.99!

It's September and change is in the air. Sunrises are spectacular but so bright that the camera either can't handle the too-bright (smoke bush), or likes the just-right (ash shadow). And that piercing autumn noise in the trees is made by this male cicada popping his muscles to 100 decibels!

Fall brings the last car cruises before the beauties hibernate like rare spirit bears. Still lots of chrome and fins to perv. Can you hear the horns on this classic motorhome?

There's a new bed up here. No, not a memory foam but it should make lots of memories. Old cedar poles, a chainsaw, and some grasses. Volia --- garden art...

Today is also the finale of the big salmon derby. The fishers were still out there at dawn getting their rods wet. As of this moment the leader is a 29 pounder...

We are captivated by the winged migration of monarchs going on all around us. They flutter by from dawn to dusk, like orange spirits on the wind. (Wouldn't it be nice to see them in Mexico again, say on Feb. 14??)

Have you noticed any differences in this week's pictures? Some were taken with the pocket Canon, as before. But some are the first frames with a Fuji Finepix. An amazing find at my favourite thrift shop. Like the dearly departed Prince, we're now gonna party cause it's 19.99!
