NEW YEAR AND ALREADY GOING BANANAS

No siesta, all fiesta on New Year's Eve. Among a dozen diversions, a remarkable band called Arcano astounded the crowd in an open air concert. Fireworks blew the lid off your sombrero in every direction. And now we're at Epiphany. "3 Kings Cakes" are mealtime rituals: whoever gets the plastic baby Jesus baked inside is blessed but has to host dinner next day!

So the high tourist season is now on. Life imitates art on a ladder. Finger painting ain't a lost art. Kids play with fire on the beach. Birds revel in a fresh water source but so do families.

A pleasant daytrip out to the shore hamlets of Boca Tomatlan and Mismaloya for greenery and fresh air. Boats of all kinds, some even float. Girls set up lunch tables --- is the tide coming or going? Pelicans eagerly await a free lunch.

A challenging climb to the lookout tower "Mirador". From the street level, can you do it --- the sign says Si Senor! But it's a major huff 'n puff, like the Grouse Grind in Vancouver. Magnificent view is worth it. Hola PV!

But the trees are going bananas and so am I. I miss driving bigtime, so any fix will do for now. Maybe the real  thing this week??
