ROAD TRIP: DO YOU KNOW THE 'TOON??

School's in but we're out! Topped up the feeders and picked the green tomatoes. Drove off to the ferry and headed north-west around the superior lake they call Gitchigumi. Had to stop to pay tribute to Canada's all time hero, Terry Fox. (His famous fund-raising run/walk/.bike for cancer is this month --- do it!!)

Passed through majestic northern boreal forest already turning reds. Passed the Manitoba border on long, flat straightaways. But lots of bad driving --- this first guy dumped a load of 12 new cars :(
The second guy made his rig into a teetter-totter! And that's just halfway across!

Saskatchewan is engulfed in the grain harvest. Making hay --- and dust! ---- when the sun shines. The iconic grain elevators are expected, but who knew about the biggest bat? (The 'Jays could use it these days...)

Where they "Forded into Battle in the North(can you decode that town?) there's a giant water slide, perfect for 4, 27, and 71-year old boys. Outside, guys show they're real men by walking A Mile In Her Shoes to stop gender violence.

But where has the road trip ended so far?? Hints: we're a shadow of a former visit. The place is so old the trees have grown in. It's hotter than back home. And the Driver beckons in a tour van!

More details all next week!
