Did you set the clocks back overnight? No difference to the sunrise --- still awesome in colours and clouds. Earlier this week the warm lake created morning fog thick enough to swallow the annual Coast Guard cutter removing nav buoys.
Most mammals have gone into their hidey-holes but there are still some birds, acrobats, and plant bugs out in the unseasonal warmth.
More leaves this year than ever in memory. Huge piles by the barn, by the house, in the yard. They're dragged away in the "barge" and piled on garden beds. Thousands of apples on the ground but always a holdout?
Warm weather meant the pond had a few extra weeks but it's time to clean it out, drain and refill. Yukky job but like winterizing a car?
Resident frogs become very curious about their water level. At least 20 golden pond fish swirl around --- they were mostly unseen during summer pond vegetation.
Show your true colours while you can. Kisses can come from unexpected places!
