CANUCK STUFF

This week was Canada Day and despite all the people trying to ruin it, it's still the best country to be in. No question that we have a deep attachment to Canada and Toronto ---- it's on our clothes! The week started with scary storms of wind and rain that damaged the beach. For kite and wave surfers --- that weather was ideal.

But the lake went flat calm the next day and the fireworks brought much of the city to watch.

It's less than a week to the start of the PanAm Games --- the biggest gathering of athletes and events in Canada's history. The Panamania Arts festival will probably leave an even longer lasting legacy on the city, but for kids it's all about Pachi the Porcupine (!?) Games mascot. On our street what could be more Canadian than tree planting, asphalt laying, and walking your kayak and dog at the same time?

It's the Best Summer Ever in Toronto with more festivals/music/sports/food worship/ethnic celebrations/transit/public art installations/grand openings/ and new this-and-that like the airport express train called UP (Union Station to Pearson, get it?). Add the beautiful summer weather and you have really great Canuck Stuff, from moose to pizza. Enjoy your slice of it!
